Biographical information for each Avnel's executive officers and directors is set forth below

Executive Officers

Roy Meade , Director of mining, has over 32 years of experience in the mineral sector including exploration, development and production. He has served as CEO of Avnel Cayman since September 2003. From 2000 to 2003 Mr. Meade was Senior Vice President of Kahama Mining Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Barrick Gold Corporation, responsible for its operations in Tanzania. Prior to that, he served as a Director of Tahera Corporation from 1998 to 2000, where he managed the feasibility study and the environmental permitting for a proposed diamond mine. Mr. Meade was also CEO of the Nelson Gold from 1996 to 2000, as well as President of Johnson Harvey International from 1993 to 1996. Mr. Meade also has experience as General Manager of mining operations through his employment at the Hartebeestfontein Gold Mine from 1990 to 1993 and by ETC Mines in South Africa from 1986 to 1990. Mr. Meade holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He is also qualified as a Professional Engineer in the United Kingdom.

Howard B. Miller , CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors, has over 30 years of experience in the legal and financial mining sector in South Africa, the U.K. and Canada. Mr. Miller has been a director of Avnel Cayman since its incorporation in 2001. Prior to this, from 1993 to 2001 Mr. Miller was a founding director of Nelson Gold (later Nelson Resources Limited), a TSX listed company. Mr Miller is a past member of the Securities and Futures Association in the United Kingdom.

Alan McFarlane, VP Finance and comapny secretary, is a registered ACMA. He has extensive experience in mining having previously worked for Avocet, a listed mining company.

Dr Andy Killick, VP Exploration has a PhD in Geology and 35 years of experience in the minerals industry as a senior exploration director, applied research worker and consultant.  His strengths lie in structural geology, geochemistry and economic geology.  He has worked in 21 African countries and with 16 different commodities and precious metals. Dr Killick completed a BSc (Geology & Geochemistry) at the University of Cape Town in 1968, a BSc (Hons) Geology at the University of Cape Town in 1969, a MSc (Structural Geology & Rock Mechanics) at the Royal School of Mines, University of London, in 1972 and a PhD (Structural Geology) at the Rand Afrikaans University in 1992. Andy worked for the JCI Group for 25 years, ultimately becoming General Manager (Geology and Exploration) for JCI Projects Group. During that period his focus was exploration in South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe, and latterly management of all specialist geological services to the Group’s exploration activities and mines. During this period he represented JCI as one of the joint venture partners who held the Kalana Permit, which is today the main asset of Avnel Gold. In 1998 he became a founding Director of The Mineral Corporation, responsible for a variety of projects including gold exploration in Tanzania and a five year World Bank-supported regional mapping program in Mauritania, and mineral exploration programs in Gabon. Andy left the Mineral Corporation in June 2007 and has since been an independent consultant. During 2007 he completed a review of the exploration potential of the Kalana Permit and completed an initial regolith study and geophysics data review of Avnel Gold’s Fougadian Permit.

Directors

John Kearney, lead Director, has over 30 years of experience in the mining sector in various administrative capacities. He is currently the Chairman and President of Canadian Zinc Corporation. He is also Chairman and Director of Conquest Resources Limited (listed on the TSX Venture Exchange) and Anglesey Mining plc (listed on the London Stock Exchange), and a Director of Minco plc (listed on the Alternative Investment Market) and Scandinavian Gold Corporation (listed on the TSX). His past experience in the mining sector includes serving as Chairman and Director of each of Northgate Exploration Limited, Campbell Resources Inc. and Sonora Gold Corp. He has also served as a Director of various publicly traded companies, and for both the Mining Association of Canada and the Gold Institute in Washington D.C.

Mr Kearney holds degrees in Law & Economics from the University College Dublin and a M.B.A. degree from Trinity College University of Dublin. He is qualified as a solicitor in Ireland and as was previously a Chartered Secretary with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in London. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada and the Law Society of Ireland.

Anthony Bousfield, Director, has 30 years’ of experience in the securities and finance sector. He has held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Merlin Group Securities Limited for over 10 years.

Ibrahim Kantao, Director, has close to 23 years of experience in the mining and oil sector as a geologist and in various senior administrative capacities. He has held the position of General Director of AEL Chemico SARL & AEL Mali SARL since August 2000. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Kantao was the National Director of Geology and of Mines for the Malian Government. Prior to that, he was employed as a geologist by BHP Minerals from 1992 to 1995, and by the National Directorate of Geology and Mines of Mali from 1982 to 1992. Mr. Kantao received a Master of Science degree from the Petrochemical Institute of Azerbaidjan in 1981, where he studied from 1976 to 1981 to obtain the designation of Geological Engineer.

Derek Kyle, Director, has over 45 years of experience in the mining sector as a geologist as well as in various senior administrative capacities. Most recently, as of July of 2004, he has been the Chairman of The Mineral Corporation, of which he was also a founder as well as the Managing Director since 1997. Mr. Kyle also currently serves as a Director of numerous listed and private companies, including the Mineral Corporation Consultancy (Pty) Ltd., AfriOre SA Limited, Avmin Limited and Bogoso Gold Mining Co. Ltd. Prior to founding The Mineral Corporation, Mr. Kyle was employed in various capacities with companies involved in the mining sector, including as Director (New Business) of Avmin Limited from 1995 to 1997, General Manager (New Business) of Anglovaal Limited from 1991 to 1995, Chief Consulting Geologist for Anglovaal Limited from 1975 to 1991, Director and General Manager of RF Loxton Hunting and Associates from 1965 to 1975, and Mine Geologist for Rand Mines from 1959 to 1965.

Mr. Kyle holds Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Master of Science degrees from Rhodes University in South Africa. He is also a Fellow of the Geological Society of South Africa, a member of the Society of Economic Geologists, a member of the American Society of Engineering Geologists, and a member of the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions. In addition, Mr. Kyle serves on a number of mining-related advisory boards, including the Group Geologists Sub-Committee of the Chamber of Mines of South Africa.

Jonas U. Rydell, Director, has over 11yearsof experience in the securities and finance sector. He has been employed as a Securities Analyst with Elliott Advisors (U.K.) since April of 2004. Prior to that, he was a Vice President of Credit Suisse First Boston in London (U.K.) from 1998 to 2004, and an Associate with Procuritas Partners in Stockholm ( Sweden) from 1994 to 1998. Mr. Rydell holds a Master of Science degree from the Stockholm School of Economics.
