Phase 3 Drill results on Grid 8 located in the south-east of the Kalana Permit.

Avnel has completed a RC and RAB drilling program on a gold anomaly identified on Grid 8 at the Kalana Permit. See Press Release dated August 4 , 2005.

Avnel Gold has announced that it has intersected high grade mineralization in a new gold discovery on Grid 8

Highlights: Results include 45.9 g/t over 4m in hole RC-15 and 73.6 g/t over 2m in hole RC-09a. This drilling was conducted over an area where soil geochemistry had outlined a major gold-in-soil anomaly and where a rock specimen from an eluvial horizon of local origin returned an assay value of 21.2 g/t Au.

Based on the very positive results from the initial exploratory drill program, Avnel has completed a technical report with an interpretation of the results and recommendations for future work. The technical report “Phase 3 Exploration dated 02 September 2005” is available on the website. Avnel has identified two main mineralized zones, the Djirila Main and Djirila South zones. The zones are interpreted as NE-trending, fault controlled, quartz-vein-stockworks, located close to the Djirila hill. It is proposed to drill 1,750 metres of diamond drill holes and 3,920 metres of RC holes with the objective of better defining and outlining the mineralised zones.The main emphasis of the next drill program will be to build a mineral resource base at the new gold discovery in the Grid-8 zone.
